Subnovii Plasma Pen

Tighten and refine your skin with collagen-inducing fibroblast therapy in New Jersey.

Precision tightening with lasting impact.

The Subnovii Plasma Pen delivers controlled energy just above the skin to stimulate firming and smoothing—especially around delicate areas like the eyes and mouth. It’s a non-invasive option for those not ready for surgery but wanting real tightening and refinement.

Are You a Candidate for Subnovii Plasma Pen? Subnovii is a focused skin-tightening treatment for delicate zones like the upper and lower eyelids, around the mouth, the neck, and along small areas of laxity at the jawline. It uses controlled plasma energy to trigger fibroblasts, stimulating new collagen and elastin for firmer, smoother skin. This procedure does involve significant downtime with visible dots and peeling as the skin heals, so it is best for patients who can plan for recovery. Subnovii can also be used to safely remove select benign lesions such as seborrheic keratoses and skin tags when appropriate. If you want precise tightening and wrinkle softening without surgery and you are comfortable with a more noticeable healing period, you are likely a good fit.

Dermalogic’s Expertise and Results - Under the guidance of Dr. Amy Krachman, Subnovii is performed with technique-driven precision rather than device calibration. For skin tightening, we use controlled plasma spot patterns to stimulate fibroblasts and encourage collagen remodeling. For benign lesion removal such as seborrheic keratoses or skin tags, we shift to a different application style designed to lift and clear the lesion while protecting surrounding tissue. Because Subnovii involves significant downtime and is not appropriate for every skin type or concern, we recommend a consultation with Dr. Krachman to determine candidacy, review healing expectations, and design a plan that prioritizes safety and natural-looking results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Subnovii plasma pen is designed for precise tightening in delicate areas where skin tends to thin first.

The Subnovii Plasma Pen  can improve upper and lower eyelid laxity, fine lines around the eyes and mouth, crepey skin on the neck, and small localized wrinkles that don’t always respond well to lasers or injectables. It can also treat certain types of scars by smoothing texture and encouraging collagen renewal in targeted areas.

Subnovii plasma pen is also effective for removing stubborn age spots and sunspots that have not responded to IPL. In addition, it can remove benign lesions such as skin tags and seborrheic keratoses, offering both cosmetic and corrective benefits.

The Subnovii Plasma Pen is a sophisticated device that performs what is known as fibroblast therapy, a technique used to stimulate the production of beneficial collagen in the skin. Subnovii is the only plasma pen with low-frequency technology plus a patented wavelength and power combination. The low frequency allows for more control, resulting in more precise results with reduced healing time and less risk of adverse effects. The pen works by converting energy into a stream of gas consisting of oxygen and nitrogen know as plasma. This plasma stream causes micro-wounds in the skin, triggering our natural healing process. Fibroblasts are stimulated deep in the dermis to repair this injury, stimulating cell regeneration and production of collagen and elastin which are essential components of youthful, firm skin.

The procedure is relatively quick, typically taking between 30 to 60 minutes, and is designed to be minimally invasive by not leaving a scar. Your experience will vary depending on treatment area. Topical numbing and Pronox can be used to help with discomfort.

Your visit begins with a consultation with Dr. Krachman to confirm if you’re a good candidate. The Subnovii Plasma Pen is not appropriate for all skin types and results depend heavily on skin integrity in the areas of treatment.

Topical numbing is applied for comfort and Ponox is available for patients who want added ease.

During the procedure, the pen creates tiny, controlled micro injuries on the skin leaving behind a carbon deposit. These marks look like small black spots that are part of the healing process and will remain on the skin for the average of 10 days. Expect redness and swelling in the treated area, especially around the eyes where the skin is delicate.

Immediately after treatment, we apply a drying powder and a healing ointment to protect the skin and support recovery. Different techniques are used depending on whether we are tightening skin, improving scars, or removing a lesion.  Dr. Krachman’s precision and technique are key to tailoring a beautiful outcome.

After the Subnovii plasma pen treatment you’ll see visible black dots at every treatment point. These look like tiny scabs but are carbon deposits from the plasma arc. They stay on the skin for about 7 to 10 days and fall off naturally. The treated area will also be red and swollen, especially around the eyes, and some patients notice mild oozing or a tight warm feeling during the first day or two. Itching is common as the skin begins to repair.

During this period, strict aftercare is important.  You will use a drying powder and healing ointment provided by Dr. Amy Krachman. Avoid picking, sweating, heat, makeup, and sun exposure after the procedure for 7 to 10 days. As the carbon dots gradually lift, the skin beneath will look pink and fresh. This is normal and part of the healing timeline.

Collagen production continues for several weeks to months, so results appear gradually. Skin tightens, texture refines, and lines soften overtime. Because it is an ablative treatment with meaningful downtime, we guide you closely at each step to ensure you heal safely and get the most natural, balanced improvement.

The plasma pen is a remarkably effective device for skin rejuvenation, but the fact remains that other treatments are better suited for some patients. That’s why Dermalogic also offers a diverse array of laser services, including laser skin rejuvenation, as well as chemical peels, microneedling, and more. The best way to determine the ideal option for you is to start with a consultation at Dermalogic!
