Sculptra® is approved by the FDA for treating shallow to deep facial lines, from fine wrinkles to obvious folds. Specifically, Sculptra® can be injected to address wrinkles on the cheeks, nasolabial folds or “parentheses lines” next to the mouth and nose, marionette lines that extend vertically downward from outer corners of the mouth, and certain wrinkles on the chin, and temple hollows. It can also help to restore youthful, lifted, and well-defined facial contours, as well as help to define the jawline.

Sculptra® stands out from other treatments. Instead of hyaluronic acid, it contains microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid, which work by forming an internal support structure after injection. As the collagen gradually fills the area, the skin becomes smoother and more even.
Over time, the poly-L-lactic acid framework naturally dissolves, leaving behind the newly formed collagen, which can maintain your results for up to two years. Since collagen also degrades over time, patients should get maintenance sessions to prolong their refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.

Sculptra® takes about 15 to 30 minutes to inject, depending on the area or areas being treated. Patients typically see the best results with at least three treatment sessions, each spaced about eight weeks apart. Bi-yearly maintenance visits then help patients to enjoy ongoing benefits of Sculptra®.
